Subject: replaced plugs/wires...now no power?? IP: Logged
Message: my truck hit 65k and needed a tuneup, so i put a drop in k&n filter in, got the oil changed, replaced the plugs and wires. The old plugs gaps were waaaay out of whack, and they were really burnt looking. But, now that i have replaced them my truck seems to have alot less power in all the gears especially 1st and 2nd, the truck sounds better, it seems like it has the get up and go when i press the accelerator, but it just winds the rpms up and doesnt feel like im going anywhere. sorry for the long post, any suggestion?

Message: change the cap & rotor as Solar said. you could go to Auto Zone and have them pull the codes and post back here with the results.

Message: the cap is what you plug all the spark plug wires into. the rotor is underneath the cap. the center back of the engine. it's called the distributor.
