Message: 1.) Upload them to a host--a common one is Photobucket
2.) Get link to the image...on your main gallery page (in Photobucket) with all the image thumbnails you should see three boxes underneath--Url, Tag, Img.
3.) You can either copy everything from the Tag box and paste it in your post...and that's it!
...or copy everything from the Url box and then enter the following on your post:
<img src="contents of Url box">
I prefer to use the latter so I don't have the "Image Hosted by PhotoBucket.com" alt text.

Message: you think he should charge $60 for a complete bored throttle body when that's the going price for a used-standard bore throttle body?
i'm not saying his work is worth $175, because i have not seen any pix of quality, but to say $60 is just arrogant.
the only "bored" dakota throttle body on eBay is a little more than $60

Message: my prices are good. ask any machine shop to do this kind of work and they will want at least $60 an hour for a standard shop rate plus material. basically my tbs are just like what you would get from fastman or f&b but for $100 less. i will create a site with complete pics and all tonight and then put a link on here. i am a machinist and i am doing this on my own time during my lunch break and staying late after work to do these so i think that my prices are reasonable. there is a lot more work that goes into these things than you would think. it takes me about 5 hours total to do the work on one tb. oh and by the way, you can get them on ebay for around $250. i am about to bore the one that came off of my truck originally so that someone can order one from me and ship me theirs and i will already have one to ship right back. so little down time.

Message: Hey daveshotdako and N56629...
Any advice on how to properly bore the tb's down? My dad used to be in the tool & die field...was a machinist...and now he's the plant manager for a company who makes industrial pumps. He knows how to run most of the machines and I was told I should see if he'd do my tb for me. Since this is my stock tb I wanna make sure he does it right so any words of wisdom to help ensure he does it correctly? You can either reply here or email me...email addy is on the left side under my name.

Message: Josh, if your dad is a good machinist, with a tool making background, he will be able to do it with a minimum of instruction. You can search for the info I gave Dave and Dave will apparently be making a website with some info.

Message: I got my bored 48mm TB back from daveshotdako yesterday. It is beautiful. The price is good and the workmanship is awesome. I would highly recommend Dave to do any machining or boring. I can't wait to install my TB and tell everyone the results in HP and MPG. Thanks alot, Dave.

The v8 tb is larger than than the bores of the v6. I have yet to have anyone that tried one of my modified v6 tb's wishing that they had installed a v8 tb.
As for the differences, with the v8 tb it's cheaper but may require that you purchase and install a different throttle cable. The v6 will cost a bit more but it's a direct bolt on.

Message: i have heard of people who prefered a bored v6 tb to a v8 tb. i can bore a v6 up to 48mm. the v8 tb however is a 49mm bore but it has a torque step in it just like our v6 tbs do. like i learned when i bored my tb to begin with, the bore on the v6 intake is 47.5mm, so a 48mm tb bore is fine. a stock v6 tb has a bore of about 43 to 44mm.

Message: Dave, visulize what is happening with the v8 tb on the v6 manifold. The air enters the venturi and is restricted by the so-called torque step which increased the velocity. The air then expands into the 50mm diameter underneath the step and is then abruptly restricted again by the 47.5mm intake manifold openings.
A lot of people seem to dismiss this as trivial but it's no more trivial than wanting to get rid of the flexible tube that connects your filter to the air hat. Everyone seems to think that nice smooth flowing tube is the only way to go. If you want to get the most out of your mods you have to pay attention to the details.

Message: i am a friend of daveshotdako and i drove his truck before and after he did his tb. man what a difference it made. he showed me the tb before and after he did it and told me all of what he had to do to it. i do not know a thing about machining, but he made it seem so simple. dave is ranked 1st in the state of georgia and 13th in the nation as a machinist straight out of college. he knows his stuff. i know that when i get my dakota, i definately have him do the tb and i recommend him to everyone else.
