Subject: MSD 5 or 6? IP: Logged
Message: Im just looking for a more complete burn of fuel up to the 5,000 rpm rev limiter.
msd 5 goes for $80 in my area.
msd 6 goes for $150 in my area. With coil an tach adaptor the msd6 would cost in the area of $220.
What im unsure of is do both need a tach adaptor, which ones better for my needs an complements my mods the best? Would i really need the CD with a mild setup?
I seen a lot of reports of little to no gains on the msd 6 in the search and didnt see much mention of the msd 5
Mods:
TB, Intake, Manifold port matched, spiro core wires, exhaust, 1.7 RR, Iat relocated, 180 stat, underdrive pulley.
Thanks

you'll be happy you did
you've allready got mods and most likely

Message: here from MSD's website
the 5 is pretty much for a stock engine
http://www.msdignition.com/ignition_2_5200.htm
here's the 6
http://www.msdignition.com/ignition_4_6200.htm
most people installing these feel a difference
(not seat of the pants though)
and also a increase in MPG's
last one i installed was on my ol'Firebird
(hot street/strip) 500 ponies
but i used a 7
