Subject: Check Eng. Light on IP: Logged
Message: I have a code of P1398. It keeps coming back. The shop I took it to said they changed the crank sensor. What is the code meaning?

Message: That's exactly what was wrong with the truck the crank sensor failed, the p1398 code by name reads misfire adaptive numerator at limit.
"Intermittent loss of either camshaft or crankshaft position sensor, or CKP sensor target windows have too much variation"
My truck looks like it was in a knife fight, and lost! http://www.cardomain.com/ride/1275365

Message: try changing the inductive pick up coil in the distributor. it could be spontaneously cutting out. if the crank sensor is new make sure your bolts are torqued down tightly. if it dances around down there it will not read correctly (i had that problem with my new one, it loosened up)
