Subject: Running Lights Relay IP: Logged
Message: I have a 1992 Dodge Dakota 4x4 and I was wondering if someone knows where the running lights relay is, or if it has one I guess. My running lights wont go off so I have to remove my fuse from the front fuse box to turn my lights off....if someone else might have an idea what it might be, or a fix I would also appreciate that.
Thanks A Lot.

Message: The relay should be a sealed black box about 3" square, located just behind the driver side headlight, on the inner fender well. If you pull the plug out, the running lights should be disabled.

Message: The older ones may be different, try searching these boards, I remember finding a few posts relating to this same issue. My friend's '98 had the same problem, and we just pulled the connector from the relay to kill the running lights. His running lights could *not* be killed by pulling a fuse, so it's quite likely your truck is different.
Try tracing the headlight wire harness backwards, starting with the driver side light. On buddy's truck there was a short 'Y' splice nearby that plugged into the relay.
Your relay may very well be right in the fusebox also.
Good luck.
