Message: You changed the wires? Are you SURE you didn't cross a couple. Sounds like firing out of time.

Message: have you changed any of the sensors, maybe try the crank sensor, if it is reading wrong your timing will be off and you could produce that type of behavior.

Message: Tony, I had a high speed "backfire" or "pop" on my 97 v6 dak. The problem was the sensor in the distributor used to set fuel sync. Depending on mileage, you may have a loose plastic connecting plate in the distributor. The drive gear for the distributor could also be loose or worn. Generally any time you get a miss while it's running it's gonna be related to ignition. Good Luck and report back what you find.
92 and 97 Daks both with many mods.

Message: wadak,
I have a hard time believing it would be a worn distributor because his problem didnt develop over time, it started all of a sudden. but the sensor for the injector sync sounds like a promising place to look.

Message: I changed the crank sensor to no avail. I also decided to take out plugs to recheck gaps and noticed the #6 cylinder didnt look right. it had black powder on it , maybe not firing? So i changed that plug and wire no change. I was also told to check the injecters so i put a screwdriver to them and that injecter seems to "click" faster than the others. Im not sure if this is right or not. Thanks in advance.

Message: Check to see if you plug wires have a cut in them they could be grounding out. I had the same problem one time with a car.
