On occasion, at stop my trans seems to engage enough to stall the engine. The idol RPMs seem fine. Changed the oil and filter and adjusted the bands a couple of monthes ago. Fluid level is fine. Any ideas? '97 Dak 3.9

Torque converter solenoid stuck in lockup mode?

Does it start shuddering around 20 mph as you slow?

could be the sol what it does when activated is
close a fluid vent hole and redirects the flow to
enguage lockup usualy a bad one it will not
enguage at all and is more likly the change valve sticking

clean the connections drivers side of trans, the
sol has 12volt batt all the time and the comp
complets the ground to activate sol if there is
water or caroasion in the 8 pin connecter on your
RE trans it may be making a ground when it is not
soposed to threw a feed back and this will also
cause the stalling in rev and drive while standing
still

sonnax makes a replacement upgraded change valve
that will cure the prob with a sticking valve

SONNAX® 22771A-01

This will also happen if you used the wrong fluid
ATF +3or+4
Amsoil syn
Red Line Syn

No cheap or dextron fluids should be used as
stated by chrysler

No shuddering in any range, used ATF+3 (CarCare brand). I'll definetly check out those sol connections. Greatly appreciate the help. I'll post how it works out.
