i had a leak in a rear metal line (very short line) thats plugged into some sort of pump on the frame an the other end is plugged to the rear brake hose(the one with the splitter block on the axle. well i ruined the fitting that goes to the (pump) and i cant screw in the new line. does anyone know what this pump or whatever is called because i need the fitting that goes there. hope you can understand this post...

Hey, I had that exact line leak on my '91 a few months ago, the thing was rusted so bad it started leaking, lost all of my fluid in the front half of the master cylinder quickly. Anyway, as Larry menioned above, the unit has to do with the rear anitlock brake system, AdvancedAuto calls the unit a ABS Hydraulic Unit and it sells here in MO for $156.00. I was glad to see it was only the line that went bad on mine and it was a pain to get that line off, I inadventerly ended up unscrewing the fitting on my ABS unit as well to get the line off (after cutting the line), then put it in a vise to get the old line off. You might try looking at a new unit at Advanced or Autozone and then they could tell you exactly what size fitting and line you need, I can't remember what size it was but that may be your best bet. What a pain for a $2.50 brake line, I didn't know the brake lines would rust like that, when it gets warm I'm looking them all over and may replace some of the others before they go out.
