Message: If you have a 3.9L get the one for the V8 5.9 or a 5.2 they're the same (48mm). The 4.7L TB is completly different. Any magnum truck TB will work it'll say v8 cast on the top of it. You'll need a tb that is compatable w/ yours the differance is the early ones are EGR the later ones aren't. the get a new trottle cable (20-30$) to fit the V8 tb. This is one of the best upgrade you can do to your 3.9L. The sensors on the tb are the same also so you can save a few bucks maybe by getting one w/o the sensors on it. If you get this done let the trucks computer learn the upgrade for a couple of hundred miles then enjoy.

Message: Thnx Gears
From the post before it is for a 5.9L V8. It's only $95 so i'm guessin that may be a good price. But i really don't know cuz i've never looked for one. Would i be able to use the throttle cable from an existing V8 or would it be better to get a new one?
Also, I'm workin on getting some pictures of my truck uploaded but i'm having problems with uploading them right now but some coming soon

Message: You shouldn't have to spend more than 25-30 dollars for the TB. Definately get the cable from the same vehicle if you can. Recently I bought two v6 tb's on eBay for less than $25 each. At a junk yard I bought a complete tb, manifold w/injectors for $75. Take your time and look around.
Do you plan on putting that v8 tb on top of a v6 manifold that has just 48mm openings?
If you can't find a v8 tb that cheap, you might want to consider having the v6 tb opened up. You would save yourself a lot time and very little extra cost.

Message: Brandon, I would suggest you research this forum or go to www.dakotausa.com. Much has been written about it. I never personally recommend that anyone do it unless they are very handy with hand tools or have access to a machine shop, but to each his own.
