Subject: Vacuum Leak on 90 3.9L IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys, Ive noticed that my 1990 4x4 dakota has recently been idling higher than normal. I put on a new idle speed sensor and have done the 'ol wd-40 check for a leak and i can't find it. Am I looking in the wrong place or what? Is there a common hose that leaks on this model year? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks....

Message: the idle speed motor may be sticking,if you turn the key on and then off do you hear a clicking/buzzing type sound from under the hood?
if you open the hood and take the air breather off and do the on and off you can watch the idle speed motor move in then out, thats the clicking
check all the vaccuum hoses, when they get as old as they are anyone of them could be broke,
gasket under the tbi
could be leaking under the intake manifold, have you noticed any skipping/misfire?
