Subject: 94 V6 runs rough/stalls IP: Logged
Message: Would appreciate any insight....I have a '94 v6/5 sp., reg. cab (bone stock), w/220,000 on the original motor. Before last week, it averaged 22MPG (~21mpg in the winter/~23mpg in the summer). Has always run great, regular MX, etc. Just when it got single digit cold, it staterd hard, idled poorly, and stalled if I didn't keep the acc. pressed. After a few miles, the issue went away and the truck drove well. I thought it was a bad tank full, but it did go away when it warmed up. This is now a common occurrence when I start up in the morning. Also, I pulled a non-descript EGR code from the test cycle. This code came a month or more before the rough running/stalling that I experience now. The issue just came up one day, no gradual slip. One day it ran great, the next, badly. Seem to be the EGR valve???? Or something worse..........
Thanks in advance, Dave.

Message: More info....
Almost forgot, the temp gage hasn't been in its normal range (since this started happening). It takes longer to heat up, period, but also never gets to where it was last week. Thermo isn't original, maybe 3 years old. Gets good heat, but gage reading isn't normal.
