Message: 1993 Dakota 3.9 V-6 CC, Life was good until it quit one night while on the highway. After a flatbed ride home I changed the fuel filter on the frame rail and then it would run and stall after a minute of starting. I read a lot of posts which led me to the IAC control, I removed and cleaned that item, again it would only run about a minute or two, starting normally, then it would begin to hunt between 200 and 1200 RPM until it stalled. I swapped the fuel pump, A/C, ASD and starter relays all around with no change. I installed a pressure gage on the fuel manifold and read no pressure when I turned the key to on. I removed the fuel pump assembly and installed a new assembly, turned the key to on and no pressure! I removed the fuel pump relay, verified it works. I jumpered pins 87 and 30 and got 40-42 psi. The engine cranks but doesn't start at all now? I'm wondering what sensors (O2, crankshaft position indicator, etc.) may cause this kind of failure?
Thanks for any suggestions!

Message: Thanks Larry. I pulled the connector and there is no voltage at pin 3. There is 12v at pin 9 when the key is on. I opened up the harness looking for the red wire and the splice. I could only find a red wire with a white stripe, no splice. To be clear, this is the harness for that 60 pin connector, right? I did find a splice a foot back, it is 3 into 1 and it is for the black wire that grounds to the fender wall, that's all I found. Beyond that the harness splits and there are 2 smaller harnesses that go into rectangular plastic connectors, is that where I should be looking? This truck date of manufacture is 9/92, vin 1B7FL23X2PS137302.

Message: Found the bad splice, on the drivers side it was actually under the power distribution box, completely corroded and disconnected. re-spliced the wires and verified power at pin 3 on the computer plug. Problem solved, starts, runs like before. Life is good!
Thanks again Larry for the direction and support, this is a great forum!
