Subject: Fuel Tank Capacity IP: Logged
Message: I just bought a 96 Dodge Dakota, it says in the manual 15 or 22 gal fuel tank, the fuel guage does not work, anyway of telling how much the tank holds, dont really want to run it out of gas, might suck up the dirty stuff in the bottom of the tank
thanks in advance

Message: My 91 long bed has a 22 gallon tank, it is stamped on the bottom of the tank and my fuel gauge doesn't really work either. It bounces all around till about 1/4 of a tank left, then its kinda accurate. The low fuel light does work, usually kicks on w/ about 4-5 gallons left in the tank and I always hit my trip meter, usually fill up between 250-350 miles. Not an uncommon problem w/ the Gen II Daks.

Message: Try running it down to when the fuel light comes on or REPLACE THE FUEL GAGUE. Those are going to be the only ways to find out besides lookint it up by the vin number or running it out of gas
