Subject: Front pads cause bad vibration IP: Logged
Message: This happened when I hit a small section of the road that was flooded.
Brakes caused whole front of truck to shake when coming to a stop, seem to be very grabby more than normal.
I have had disk brakes groan a little on other vechiles, but never this violant shake.
It clears up after driving awhile.
I was told to use only Mopar pads, the guy I got the truck from used an after market set, but I don't know what brand it was.
What brand pads would be good for this problem?
Should I go with Mopar only?
Thanks.

Message: there is no reason to "only" use mopar pads. There are some very good pads (some better than OE) available from Raybestos, Bendix, Carbon Metallic, etc. when I go to the auto store, I usually choose the best (or near the top) of what is available. Any brake pad is a trade-off of friction, dust, noise, life, cost, etc.

Message: STAY OFF FLOODED ROADS
you never know when there will be fast moving water that will sweep you away, or a sinkhole or the endge of the road has crumpled away and you can't see it through the murky water or the bridge that used to be there isn't.
