Subject: Replacing gas hose at TB IP: Logged
Message: On my 1991 with a v-6 I need to replace the two gas lines, (5/16 I think), they seemed to have little cracks in them but are not leaking, anyhow
the hoses seem to be crimped on to the metal gas lines what looks like some sort of high pressure type fittings, the other ends have a regular hose clamp.
I was going to try to cut off the crimped part, but can't get my tubing cutter in there.
Also I replaced my gas filter on the frame rail and it too has the crimped fitting and it is much too close to the tank to even get a small hacksaw in the area.
So I had to leave the old hoses in place.
These hoses are origional and have cracks in them.
How does one replace these hoses with high pressure hoses?
Thanks.

Message: Thanks Larry,
I already bought the high pressure hose at $5 a foot, so I will use that.
Those crimped on connectors look like part of the metal gas line, something I see on the old Dodges power steering pumps.
If I cut them off, will I have a clean end on the metal gas line to put my hose?
Thanks
