Message: I have 1 '94 Dakota with 3.9 & 5 speed transmission. It recently quit on me as I was driving down the road. I have had this problem before a couple of years ago.The check engine light, now & then wasnt/isnt coming on when the key is turned on when it goes through the bulb check. After a lot of hit & misses I did as several people advised & bought a new computer (PCM)and still nothing.
Well, I found ( by trial & error) a loose wire (ground) in the temperature control switch on top of the engine,I tightened it up & the problem was fixed for two years.
Now,here I am again with the same problem, but its not the wire (TCS). The check engine light wont come on at bulb check,NOTHING. A scanner does no good because the check engine light doesnt come on. ANY SUGGESTIONS ????
All replies will be appreciated.

Message: Check wiring under the ASD relay
in underhood fusebox.
Look for a splice of 3 or 4 wires -=- probably
needs re doing .. If not at that point -= the
splice will be found further back in the harness
towards the firewall .
You could also try switching the ASD relay with
another one..

Message: Thanks for thr reply.I did as you said & sure enough there was a bad splice in the wiring under the fuseblock under the hood. There were some wires corroded & broken in two.
I also repaired the Temperature Control Switch plug in. After charging the battery, It started right up,ran a little roug at first, but it had been sitting since the first week of September.
Thanks Again.
