A few weeks ago my 2001 dakota w/ 3.9L V-6, betgan misfiring. The code said I need to replace camshaft position sensor. I did this and replaced plugs, wires, rotor, distributor cap and TPC sensor. Didn't fix it. It runs ok until it warms up, then begins missfiring, backfiring and dies. I noticed after leaving it parked for a few days, that it seems worse than if I drive it every day. It was parked for a week and when I tried to drive it, the check engine light started flashing and it lacked power. I would stop, let it sit for a few minutes and then light quit flashing. Last diagnostic said again camshaft position sensor. Amny ideas?
