Message: I have a 1997 Dodge Dakota Sport Regular Cab with a 3.9L V6.
I was wondering if anyone with a similar truck has put a sub in? And if so where did you put it. I have heard that some people put it in the bed, and I could do that since I have a lid, but where else do people put them?

Message: bazooka sounds good?! I had a 10" bazooka on mine and it sounded really bad. As far as putting in subs just use your imagination. My friend has 3 12s in his regular cab s10 and it hits hard.
If you want to put subs in the bed you are going to have to port the cab (cut a hole in the back of your cab and in the front of your bed) for it to sound good. dont know if you want to do that or not.

Message: No Zack they are not custom fit enclosures they are just regular truck boxeds that I picked up from Mobile One. I got tired of everyone telling me that "you have a regular cab you can't fit two 12's". That is bull $hit and I just proved that. All I had to do was adjust my seat up 1 notch over where I usually sit and they fit! If you are wondering I am not short either, I am 6'0" and weight about 195lbs. so any of you should easily be able to do it!

Message: I personally love Bazookas... I went from 4 12's to 3 JL 10 w6's to a 10" bandpass... so I know good sound. I just don't like loud anymore... all of my last systems were stolen. I had an alarm the last time.. a Clifford at that. But my truck was at a dealership in valet mode.
My 8" bazooka running off of a 150watt kenwood (running on the 5th channnel) sounds just as good as all my other systems.. it doesn't rattle neighbors windows, or even the car next to me, but that is fine. I have gotten to the point where I can't stand hearing others bass... especially here in apt. complex at 1am!!!!!
sorry for the rant. I am still a bass head at heart, I just keep it to my self.. that is what happens when you get old hehehehe
oh, and I only paid $118 for my Dual Voice coil RS series 8" bazooka... and about $325 for the amp.. so if it gets stolen, I won't be out too much money.
Of course, if you don't advertise, it don't get stolen... think about that

Message: I got a pair of 10 Mtx subs in the custom MTX enclosure. The back seat is still totally usable and the enclosure is designed for the cabin. I've had plenty of systems before and was surprised at the quality and volume of this product. I've got two MTx amps, one pushing the two 10's in a 8 ohm configuration, the other, a four channel pushin my highs, which include 4 infinity 5 1/4s and a pair of Kove tweeters, all running from a clarion deck. It's as loud as I could possibly need.

Message: I am running four 6 1/2 infinity Kappa 3 ways, one 12 bass tube " I blew up my 10 inch Bazooka tube I do not run it that hard but it was an older sub" This is all powered by my Infinity 5 channel Kappa amp that I hide under the bench seat behind the drivers side of my 2000 CC 4X4. I want to have a custom box made under the passenger side bench CC seat and install a 10inch Rockford solo baric sub " square sub ". There is not allot of room in the CC area and I hate to have it wasted with the 12 bass tube. Plus I prefer to have as much of the system hide as possible. " Out of site out of mind.
Talk to you guys soon

Message: First decide where you want them, then get a subwoofer to fit. Some subs are designed to work in very small spaces, even 10's and 12's. Most manufactures will have something that works for you.

Message: I have a copy of autosound & security mag where they did an install in a reg cab truck. They used the back wall of the truck as part of the enclosure to reduce space consumption, and used a couple of 10's,maybe even 12's which use very little airspace,I believe they were kicker solobarics.Jl Audio and Image dynamics also make good subs that work well in small enclosures. The key to this install was sealing the enclosure entirely,so the install has to be done right. You might be able to talk with someone from the magazine to get a copy of the issue.

Message: Wish I had these forums four years ago when I was modding and 50 pounds lighter. 6' 210lbs with 2x12s in a regular cab with space for another two 12 or 15 if I wanted. BOOM BOOMM!!
Rip out the jack and stick it somewhere else. Measure twice and cut once with some plywood or fiberglass.
Subs should have a deep around 6". So design around the subs depth limit and your comfort level with the seat.

Message: it is possible i have a 87 dakota standard cab with 2 lanzar 800watt 10's. There ran by a lanzar 800 watt vibe amp and its bridged. I used standard truck boxes and only had to move my seat up 2 clicks. My 87 also has 9 1/2 inches of lift with 35 in. boggers. I replaces the 3.9 with a 5.2 318. Shes an offroad machine.
