Message: there are two ways to do it. Put the engine and tranny together. drop in truck and weld the mounts where they land, or contact advanceadapters for a kit.Personally, i would sell the chev and get a good used mopar @ the local salvage yard, they are not to terribly expensive.

Message: Troy... I played with the idea too. But you will find it easier to put a Mopar engine in it. People do this all the time and you can find kits to do it. I'm currently looking to put a 360 in a 96 Dakota. I found alot of sites to buy the swapping material form. If you want them let me know. Have fun, and don't let this discourage your idea! I'm sure it can be done. But I think it's more hassle than it's worth.

Message: If you check out www.engine-swap.com (also
advertised in the back of mopar now) you can get
everything you need for a V6-V8 swap, motor mounts,
etc. Unfortunately, when I checked them out, it is only
Gen II trucks. They run around $350.

Message: True, But I've been told that you can just take the mounts from a V8 and put them in yours.. Why couldn't you? I'd think they'd be the same? It depends on what you mean by "ETC" I'd just go to a local salvage yard and get the parts you need. Not sure on the cost, but your probably going to spend more the salvage yard.. So I guess I see what you mean.
But I plan on using mounts from a 5.2 Dakota.
All the parts are there to make the swap.. Easiest was is to get a wrecked V8 dakota of whatever Generation you need, set them next to each other and swap the parts.

Message: There aren't any wrecked dakotas of any kind in my area, that is why I drove all the way to Buffalo to get the motor. If I can get the motor mounts that way, I will, otherwise they will have to be ordered. I'm thinking a used parts site would probably be a good idea too.
Maybe if someone gave me a wrecked dakota, that would be the best way to do it - but I can imagine purchasing the entire thing would cost considerably more that a couple of motor mounts.

Message: this question has been asked like a million and 3 times now. Search before you post it again. www.engine-swaps.com sells everything you need to swap a from gen 1 or gen 2 four or 6 cyl to a v8(small block or big block) they don't sell a "kit" for gen 3 because the mounts are the same and nothing that i'm aware of needs to be moved. That being said its a fairly expensive and time consuming process for anyone considering it. I looked into it and relized it wasn't feasible for me.
