Message: I have a 2000 quad cab SLT, the front valance does not have fog lights in it, however it has the kinda fake holes so to say, I was wondering if anyone has cut those holes out and installed factory fog lights in those spots, or if it is a good idea at all.....all help is appreciated!!!!
Thanks,

Message: True fog lights are amber and do not project far.
Rain lights are green.
Factory bumper lights ( a.k.a.ditch lights on locomotives ) are white and shine a few feet ahead of the truck. Look nice but don't help much, although I have used just marker lights and bumper lights in fog. Helped a little.
Factory wiring includes a relay that does not allow these lights to be on when the hi-beams are on. Some cops will stop you for running all of them. I disagree, but never bypassed the relay.

Message: Dont cut you will regret it.
I did and one bracket ended up getting sheared off when I went offroading and the other light ended up getting a rock and cracking. Its a very vulnerable spot that requires constant maintanence
I plan on putting some in the middle portion of the front valence just above the front liceance plate. I've seen it done and it looks pretty slick. Being higher up should offer more procection and there is also structure there to bolt them to.
Good luck

Message: is it like that for all 2000 cause mines like that as well. im planning on throwing on a small bullbar w/ a winch and lights onto mine. i wouldnt cut unless you cant do it perfectly in a circle. its actually a good thing for me not to have them, bumped a icey snowbank and put a nice dent right there where the light would be. does anyone have any sujggestions on a good bullbar setup?

Message: Westin has a pretty nice set up and I think thats really the only manufacturer you'll find as far as bull bars. Good luck, post back if you find something else, I'd be interested.

Message: westin is a very good product. I have a set of nerf bars from them and they have saved helped with rock damage when off-road. You can hear every time a rock comes up and hits the bars (tink tink).
There have also a been a few times where I was close to high-centering and they took the bullet with no real damage; kind of like skis.
