Subject: Grill insert IP: Logged
Message: Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. Looking to install a grill insert, but on my 2002 the grill is held in by about 20 screws and for whatever reason they heads of the screews have been melted down. So it looks like I would have to cut the top of the screws off and get the ends out the hard way, or break it off cleanly. Any sugestions are appreciated. Thanks!

Message: The stock grille shell has plastic tabs which jut out, the stock grilles slip over these tabs and then the tips were melted to hold the grille in place. In order to install any aftermarket grille which is a replacement (not an overlay), you must break these tabs. You can either cut them from behind, or just give the grille a tug right next to each tab, they break off easily.

Message: hey sincity....where did you get your billet grille from. I like the style of yours better than the SS grille inserts.
