Subject: Who has a hitch behind their rollpan? IP: Logged
Message: What's up guys. Hey I am looking to put a hitch behind my Street Scene Gen II Roll pan. I want to know which one is best. I know that Sir Michaels, street scene, summit racing, etc make them, but don't know which one to get. I am looking for easy installation, with nice fit and finish. Also, can any of them be used with the stock spare tire mounting location? Thanks a lot.

Message: Get the street scene since you already have their roll pan. Probably wouldn't matter but better safe than sorry. I have the roll pan on my truck and the hitch sitting in my garage. I'll let ya know how it fits with the spare.

Message: Thanks a lot. I figured I should stick with the same brand, but i hear that the sir michaels hitch will fit with the factory spare rim with a smaller tire. I hope that the SS one will too.

Message: I got I believe the same set up your talking about from street scene on my truck. (03 dakota RC) But the spare tire does not fit. I did some measuring and it seams that even a really small tire wont fit. the only thing i could think of is getting a reallt skinny rim and tire combo and putting it up their at an angle cause it sux in bed of my truck. Hitch works mint thoe, towed a car with it no problem.

Message: I got the Sir Micheals steel roll pan with the hidden hitch and flip down license bracket. I didnt have any problems getting it up there with the spare tire. The only problem i have found with the aftermarket roll pan is they didnt put a cutout for the spare tire connector that you hook to to lower the tire...I had to lower the spare tire one time to work on the exhaust and it was rubbing as i was turning it and chipped the paint there now...so i need to take the roll pan off and put a notch in that location. Other than that..the installation was simple and the flip license plate works great.
