Subject: PORT Help IP: Logged
Message: Here is my problem. Im building a custom box to replace my center console for my 2001 regular cab. I have the box mainly built already, just waiting for the sub to arrive to finish the project. Anyways the total airspace of the box is 1.3638 cubic feet. THe sub I bought is a 10 inch Rockford Fostgate HE2 RFP4210. I want to port my box in the front. Take a look at the picture an you will better understand. http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=340525 A friend told me with the airspace I have, a 3 inch diameter pipe that is 12 inchs long will be required to port my box correctly. I have only 9 inchs of space to fit a 10 inch sub so I cant place the port on the wall with the sub, supposedly where the port reaches its optimium performance. I want to put it on the opposite side of the sub, but I heard that it really isnt best if it is put there. CAN SOMEONE WHO HAS THE KNOWLEDGE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE ABOUT THE PORT JOB??? Thanks
