Subject: air dam/bumper removal IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys, tried searching the forums for an answer to my question, but to no avail. I have a new stock bumper to replace my damaged one (small fender-bender on interstate). the air dam is not damaged at all. but how in the hell do you get the bumper off??? do you have to remove the air dam first to get the upper bolts off, the bolts up in front of the coolant reservoir? what socket do you use for those bolts, does it require a deep socket? am i on the wrong road completely? i got the four outer ones loose, no problem, those inner two are my proverbial red-headed step children. thanks

Message: On the 2000 you open the hood and looking down in front of the radiator supports, remove the 2 large bolts that go thru the bumper bracket into the top of the frame....then disconnect the fog light wiring if you have it....then on each side in front of the wheel/tire, above the fog light assembly, remove the two bolts per side and at this time it would be a good idea to have some helpers to catch the bumper.....Keep the shiny side up and Happy Motoring!
