Message: I just bought a Truck Tec soft tonneau from carmicdirect.com for 164.50 w/ free shipping. Installation is simple... I did it w/ no directions and I'm not real bright!!!! No drilling, slightly adjustable front to rear, cover snaps to rail, rail has 4 clamps to secure to bed. After one trip down freeway, I seem to have picked up between 1 and 2 mpg. Doesn't look too bad, either!!!

Message: the 1-2 mpg increase is about right. I have an Extang that has 6 clamps and 3 crossbars not including the end caps. It is now 3 years old and is showing some cracking around a few of the snaps. It would be interesting to know how well the cover you are using will hold up over time.

Message: Hey Lil Red Dak...
Didya know that Extang (www.extang.com) has a 3 year warranty for their vinyl tonneau covers? If you have your original purchase paperwork, they can replace a cracking cover for FREE...
Unfortunately, I didn't have my paperwork, therefore a brand new vinyl tonneau cover costs $85 plus $9 shipping, however they were really nice to me and sold it for $70 plus the $9 shipping.
Add to that the fact that it renews my 3 year cover warranty (the rails have a lifetime warranty) and I would say that the Extang is a pretty sweet deal!

Message: I have a saddleman low profile cover. Looks great and fits perfectly. It blew off when I was driving home from Ft Jackson SC. It was several hours before I realized it was gone - driving at night. I called to see how much a new one was. They sent me a new one no questions asked. I didn't have to show any receipts, they just mailled me a new one for free. Hell they even ate the S&H. You just don't see customer care like that anymore.
I guess I didn't have it on very good. That was a year ago and it still looks brand new

Message: mine is three years and about 4 months old, I still have the receipt and all the papers but they won't budge due to 4 months beyond.

Message: Dayuum man.. that sucks. Well at least you can replace just that part if needed.
I just got my new vinyl cover in and got it on (Those snaps made my fingers hurt since it was so taut.) I must say... it looks good as new!
