Message: I was thinking about putting SS Grills on my truck but, I have yet to see a closeup picture of them installed (everyone seems to be about 50' back when taking their pictures.) Also I have yet to see a picture of the underhood install and clamping process...hell, SS doesn't even have pictures? What's up with that??? Maybe I should consider Grilltech instead? For those who shop Home Depot I've looked at that option and to me it looks too cheap and I fail to see how the material will hold up to the elements... road salt will do some nasty things to your vehicle.

Message: Check my website on the Photo/Mod page and the links page for the inserts I use. Gives a different look at less than 1/4 the price of the Street Scene inserts.

Message: Personally, the homemade idea is sweet and all, but when it comes down to it, I LOVE the SS grille inserts.

Message: The SS grills are pretty expensive but I think they are worth it. I purchased my uppers from truckperformance.com and when all was said and done it cost me around $300 Canadian. I am planning on purchasing the lowers this week, how much of a pain are they to install? Also, how in the heck am I going to be able to open the hood now? (since im closing the hole to where the hood latch extension is at)

Message: Derek...the lower grille was a harder then i thought to put in. i had trouble getting the clips that they give me in on the top...seeing that there was very little clearance between my bumper and my frame (i think thats what it was) i eventually got the hang of it and i went smoothly. i highly recommend it, its a lot better lookin to me then the home brew ones...but thats my opinion.

Message: you might want to consider using the street scene grilles. they are made specific for your vehicle and the kit comes complete with a hood release relocator- the street scene kit is the only one that re-locates the hood release- all the others make you bend the grille or try to find another way to release the hood. by the time you purchase the new cables, hardware etc to re-locate your hood cable, then purchase grille material, rust proof it, bend and cut it, youll wish you had gone the cheep route and bought a street scene grille!
