Subject: Cheapest SS Grill IP: Logged
Message: I am looking for the cheapest online place to find the SS speed grill compelete kit both lower valence and main grill. I saw a thread on here a while back that had them on a site for 180, but i can't seem to find the thread. If somebody has a place around or less than 180 that'd be great.

Message: Here's a site for you if you don't want to shell out the 180 bucks for the Street Scene grille inserts:
http://www.drunkenbear.biz
The honeycomb inserts are made of aluminum (no rust), can be painted any solid color for an additional eight dollars, and are easy to install. I did mine today on the grille, going to do the lower bumper cover tomorrow. I had mine painted silver to match the truck. I'll post a pic once it's completed and I have a chance to get my hands on a digital camera.
Best part of all: the inserts are only $28 from the website, although you can find them on e-Bay for less or perhaps more depending on the auction. E-mail Shawn Keren off the website... it's a newer look than the diamond-hole extruded look, and I for one am very happy with it so far. It does require relocation or adaptation of the safety hood latch mechanism, which I did myself for about 8 bucks with a few parts from Home Depot. I will post pics etc. of this as well.
Total cost, painted plus shipping, should be about $50 or so after shipping. It's a good looking grille, so think about it as an alternative.

Message: are there clips that attach it? Or is it just gutter guard and zip ties? If there are clips i'd be interested.

Message: Well, there are not clips, that's for sure.... basically you remove the black plastic vanes in the stock grille, cut off the flashings left over with a razor/utility knife, then drill small holes in the leftover black plastic border and screw the new grille inserts on. Again, I will post my how-to and pics once I get a digital camera to take some. I'm aiming for Monday unless I get impatient and go buy one myself.
