Subject: inexpensive cd players IP: Logged
Message: I was wondering if anyone knew of a cd player for around $100. I will stick with the stock speakers since I dont plan on bumpin my country music all that loud. I just want something that will replace the stock cassette player and radio. Are cd palyers with radios all that common? As you can see I know nothing about sound systems and I havent priced anything out yet, but I would like something that is quality.

Message: Well, you could maybe get a record player for that. No, seriously you would have to at least spend about $250 for a half way decent one. If you found any that cheap, they would be worthless.

Message: Just an opinion, but $150 is not a lot to spend for infinite audio entertainment.
If you can scrape toghether a few more, try crutchfield.com.
They have lots of CD players, and a very comprehensive description of all the features.

Message: Why bother buying a cheap CD player...
I'm sure you can get a decent portable CD player and a cassette adapter for way less than that.
If you get a really good one, then it won't skip under most bangs and bumps...
Personally, I don't think there are ANY dash CD players I would put in mine for around that budget price.
(Personally, I want the Alpine 7875. It even matches the color of the blue Dak dash lights not to mention that it has 60 x 4 power for door and rear panel speakers. Unfortunately, they cost around $375 to $450...so that is WAY out of the range posted above.)

Message: Spend a little extra and get the Kenwood KDC-MP017. It plays mp3's! I just got mine installed and it is awesome to see 253 songs on one cd! I paid $269 with free shipping. If anyone wants to know where, let me know and I will post the link

Message: BTW, if you still want to get a "cheap" CD player... go check out Circuit City (if they are in your area).
They have a few CD players that are under $100, however I still wouldn't say that they are anywhere near a "top of the line" player.
