Subject: Help, what fits? IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2000 dak 2wd quad cab that I need to get some additional clearance from. I don't want to replace the wheels but would like to use 31x10.5x15 all terrain tires and I need to know what my choices are for lifting the truck to fit this tire/wheel combo under it. I have read that the fabtech kits require changes in wheels so that is out. what are my other choices? Also any pics of trucks with what I am describing would be great.. thanks much!

Message: Fabtech has a 2 inch lift kit....i don't think it requires new rims. U can fit 31's with that i believe.

Message: Fabtech says no to the 2 inch front springs because my truck is a V8 and it still requires different wheels with 3.75 backspacing.

Message: I'm not sure, but you may be able to go with the PA body lift and squeeze 31s under there. Depends on what you are doing and what tires you want to use. I dont know if that would work but I think it would because the 4wds are 3in taller than a 2wd stock and they can run 31s without lift.

Message: I would've mentioned the body lift but in his first post, he stated he wanted clearance. All a body lift is gonne do is raise the body, not give any clearance. It will enable him to git 31's, yeah, but his frame will still sit low. But hey, it's an option :)

Message: Doetsch makes a 2" coil for a V8 Dak. I have not found anyone who has tried them. Here is the link:

Message: I thought he just meant clearance to be able to fit the tires, not the frame. Anyway the axle hangs below the frame, doesnt it?
