This is for everyone with the tuff country suspension lift...What have you guys used as a reservoir or fabbed to make a reservoir for the vent line for the front axle to keep it from spitting gear oil all over the engine compartment?
I never even heard of this problem until after my lift was done and I found out the hard way. I used the base of a sprinkler head, a piece of brass pipe, a pvc cap, and JB weld to make mine until I can figure something better out.

Why don't you just get an inline tubing coupler. Has barbed ends on both sides and then about 12" of tubing. Just pull off the end cap, put the coupler and put the cap on the new tube.

Thanks Big Tymer I might try that but it probably won't be enough. The reservoir I made overflowed under the hood...gear oil everywhere, again. Not happy!!
Supposedly the problems from the extra gear oil in the front axle because of the higher fill hole in the pumpkin. When it heats up while driving it runs up the vent line, which is why its there in the first place. I never heard of the problem until after I got the lift but the guy I bought the lift from had the same problem. He used a weedeater gas tank which is what I'm probably going to try next. Maybe the hole was placed too high. Anybody else?

I also had that problem right after I put the lift on. You can either get an overflow tank from..say summit... or do what I did. I just tied a red shop rag around it and let it be. It will eventually quit leaking, unless you have to stop and get your truck serviced. Then you get a guy who won't listen, and pulled the bottom plug out and fluid went all over the place. Then he refilled it and I had to wait for it to leak back down. Gear oil looks like cr@p down the side of a white truck.
I never tried the over flow tank, but I heard it will work. I was going to get one, until mine quit leaking.
