I'm currently about to buy a set of 265-70-17 inch tires for my 2000 cc. right now I'm looking at the cooper durango mt it is basically the same looking tire as a bfg so probable besides wear there shouldn't be that big of a difference. right? all opinions welcome.

Are you sure you don't mean 265/70/16? Unless you have 17" rims, ie you replaced the stock rims with 17" rims, you need 265/70/16.

Anyways, about ties, your right about wear, i generally only hear good things about BFG from ALL forms of cars. Both sports car to trucks to 4 wheeling drivers usually recommend BFG unless you got the big bucks to change tires all the time and want to get swampers.

As far as other differnces, make sure they both have equal amounts of side wall protection and side wall grippers too. Also a softer tire(one that wears faster) will give different rides on and off the road, softer generally giving a sticky sensation because they are stickier. The softer you go, the faster they wear, especially off-road. You can actually cut swampers with car keys!

Your best bet is either the BFG or the X-Terrains.
