Subject: question for tall quad IP: Logged
Message: first off, nice truck. i have 2001 quadcab 2wd and im planning on doing the 3" suspension lift and the 3" body lift. on the fabtech website the recommend using a wheel with 33/4 backspacing. i looked on the eagle alloy website and didnt see the 589's that had that, which ones did you use.

Message: Thanks Jason. I am using the 15x10 589's. Its been a while since I got my rims so I can't remember exactly what the spacing is, but I believe they are 3 5/8. They work great!

Message: Yeah, I had the 2" Daystar spacers thinking I could add them to the Fabtech lift. First thing I noticed was I had to totally disassemble the lower a-arm just to squeeze the spacer AND the new coil in. When I got the whole thing put together the wheel was fully extended with the truck weight on it. It had no upward play at all. I decided that performance was better than looks at that point and took them off. When I took them off, the truck didn't look much different in height except the a-arms looked less stressed and had better geometry. I don't now how guys align there wheels either with the spacers and lift. Mine was difficult as is without them since the Fabtech already pushes the truck up towards it's max!
Take it for what its worth, max height isn't everything! Your truck is useless without proper suspension and that spacer and lift set-up is just asking for trouble IMHO. I went and got my money back for the spacers. There you have it!
