Message: oh yeah hey i thought id pass on a tip i recently learned... if you dont have a locker and your gettin stuck because one wheel is spinning and not there other... i just learned this last week... put'er in reverse and reverse for the equivelent(sp?) of 3' and that will lock up your axle when you put it into 1st or 2nd or what ever you want... lil tip that seems to work...

Message: so have either of you heard anything about the OX lockers?... if you dont know what it is its just like the ARB lockers exect it doesnt use an air compressor that has a vunerable hose... its done with a cable... ive read some good things about it because you have an open dif on the road and a 100% locked dif offroad when you want... but you know how mag's are sometimes they are biast(sp?)

Message: OX Lockers rock.. I have not heard anything bad about them.. But I also don't hear much about them. From what I understand they are very high dollar. If you can afford it.. go for it.
Let us know what you find.

Message: I don't know about the 3' thing. I was four wheeling a couple of weekends ago and was on a trail that required quite a bit of articulation. Of course, I had one front tire and one rear in the air. My LSD rear diff didn't do sh!t. When I'd back up, the rear diff would pop twice. I'd try to go forward and the tire in the air was the only one back there spinning. I was in 4 low 1st. Its been quite a few years since I've been wheeling and forgot all my old tricks I used to use in my other truck, like mashing the brakes while giving it gas to see if the other tire would spin and stuff like that, so I didn't get to try it.
Needless to say, I was pretty dissappointed with it since me and another Dak had to turn around because I couldn't get through that rough patch. Since I couldn't get thru it, the other guy didn't even try it. Would have been interesting to see if his LSD did the same thing. Usually though, when I've spun them in mud and snow and such, both spin. I'm guessing the load on it was just too great on the trail.

Message: What you people need to understand that a limited slip is just that. Its not a locker. IT was doing its job. The popping was normal. Thats just the cluch pac popping. Now I have a open diff and Ive had the read tire in the air and if you give it gas and pump your brakeat the same time, it will transfer the power over to the wheel on the ground. Now i dont know if you have a auto or a manual tras but mine is a auto and that method works great. But a Limited Slip is just that, a LIMITED SLIP. some work better than others because they are tighter. Thats all.
