have a 2001 quad cab 4.7 auto and it has 9600 miles and it started leaking oil between the transmission and engine . There is a seal there ???? And I have read some posts from jj , that guys seems to be the trany guru , The trany needs to come off to replace the seal and should I take it to any dealer or investigate where to take it ????? thanks ..................

this happened to my friend in is ford(yuck) it sounds the same anyways.. sounds like you cracked the rear main seal... to replace it (i think im right in this but i might not be) you have to actualy drop the tranny or something like that... so if i was you id take it to a shop unless you know what your doing... the dealer will be more expensive... wait.. you have a 2001 9600 miles? you should still be under warrenty take it into the dealer and say fix me up;)..... oh yeah clean your truck first so if they ask if you take it off road say huh me? naa this is my work truck... cause i know some people who have been screwed by dealerships like that but ive never had a problem with dodge but its probably more dependant to the shop... but take it in get it replaced before you stain your driveway more ;)
