I've been contemplating getting the 3" body lift and some 33x12.50's for my '02 Dak. But I'm kinda ancy about cutting into my baby. I've been searching, trying to find out more info about trimming the fenders. But I just can't find enough info or pictures on this subject.

I guess my main questions are:

1] I have the fender flares on my truck, will i have to trim them?

2] Will I have to trim the outer wheele well, or jsut the inner wheele well?

3] Does anybody have any really good pix of the trimming involved, tips on trimming, difficulty level.

Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated.

It's really easy to do the trimming. The black plastic in your wheel well.. Just take a sharp knife to that part. Not to your actual fender.

Knobbyman, thanks for the 411. Now all I have to do is save up for the lift, the tires, the rims, new shocks, and breaks. I want new breaks because these factory breaks suck a big-fat-one. I can't go a week without dust covering my tires. And I figure that I should do it all at once while I have some willing and able helpers with me.

I have pictures on my site for trimming the rear of the front wheel wells and the the back. I have no lift running 33x12.5x15. I do have the custom bumper but the front trimming can be done and vertually un-noticable to those not aware you did it and to others you would probably have to point it out to them. I think no matter what lift you will have to trim something.

RESQready has some posted on his site as well.

On my site go to photo page 1 and towards the bottom right there are a few better angles then DJ has. Side note I did get some rub in the rear wheel wells and had to do very minor trimming.

Joey - Depends on the wheels, tires, and truck. But in most cases yes.

Guys...Knobby's got a few eextra inches and every inch counts. I've got a 99 4x4 with 3" PA and 33/12/15.5 BFMT's on 15x10 rims. The kicker is the 10" rims. If you go with 8 no sweat. However if you want to make your rig look like a pimp ride you gotta go with the 15x10's. Doing so however will require you to have to Trim a straight cut off the front (cake) and trim a lot off the back, in addition to grinding back a little sheet metal (which you can spritz with a con of black spray paint an looks like new. Me and Tall Quad have the same setup no regrets. I was nervous at first too...but strap it on you'll thank me later.
Also tighten up your torsion bars a little to to get an extra inch....it"ll help.
