Message: Looks good, but the only thing I'd probably change is remove that plate on the front that says "Truckin'". I think it looks cheesy, but that's just me. At first glance I ran the 'T' and the 'r' together and made an 'F'... was almost shocked someone would put that on the front of their truck till I looked closer. :) Maybe find something else with just holes in it like what's at the bottom of the existing one.
Do you remember what brand those clear corners are on the front? They look really nice with the SLT. (gives me a good idea what they'd look like on my truck)

Message: My truck is almost done and i have the truckin 4.5" lift. I saw my truck in the shop yesterday and it looked great but the shop said that they had to order some part for the front. I trust this shop though because they do a ton of lifts here in Tulsa, OK. I want to take it off-roading when i get my lift i will reply back with how it went.

Message: Chad.. who's installing the lift?
Also measure the lift after they're done.. it's not 4.5" it's more.. which is fine by me but I'm just saying... Unless they reworked there lift they can't measure very well.
And what part did they have to order?
Honistly.. I haven't been looking at new names latelly I've been busy @ work but how'd u hear about this site Chad did Truckin' tell u to come here and say good things? I don't mind if they did .. as long as it's the truth. But if they are doing custom lifts for people and refering them here that's B.S. they need to make a quality lift that they ship. And have those people say what they think on this site.
I'd really REALLY!!! like to see pictures of all the brackets and stuff that they used on your truck. Because I can tell you what needs to be beefed up before it breaks something else.
Also look @ your front drive shaft. They had better have switched the CV-Joint that attaches to the transfer case to a U-Joint because that CV can NOT handle the new angle. (I'm still working on this problem I've replaced to a U-joint version but I blew out the U-joint so I'm looking for something new).

Message: I have not stopped in in a long time but thought I should today.
There are to date 26 installed 2000 and up rack and pinion Dodge Dakota lift kits.
After some unfortunate trial and error in the beggining the kits are refined and still continually improving with input from installation shops and customers.
The truck being worked on at Sams Off Road was missing the steering idler due to a shipping error. They should have it now and we are anxious to see the results of that 4.5 inch install. Of the 26 kits sold and installed only 3 have been 4.5 inch kits, there has been little interest in them.
We have completed 3 test installs at our facility in Mesa, AZ. One on DPKERNS red Dak then the one on BIGDAKs truck and a 9.5 inch on a 98 Durango out of southern California. Feel free to email me with any questions you have about the lifts at ian@tsliftkits.com.
Also at www.tsliftkits.com you can see pics of one proud Dak owner's truck along with an email link for him. Anyone who wants us to show off their truck and our kits on our site can just email me the pics and I'll get them posted with whatever info you want.
Have a good one.

Message: Hey, this is my first post but I've been reading all of your posts for a while. I just made an appointment to get my 1998 Durango lifted 5.5" with the Tuff Country lift. I live in Folsom California and I'm having Les Schwab install the lift. I choose Les Schwab for two reasons 1) the lift installed only costs $2088 ($420) for labor, and 2) because Petersons 4-wheel drive used them to install a Tuff Country lift to a Ford Super Duty as part of a 4 month long buildup project. They said in the article that Tuff Country is the best at installing these lifts. Anyways, I will post some pics of my Durango as soon as it's done. I hope this post helps some people who are riding the fence as to what to do. Also, Les Schwab offers a lifetime warrenty on the lift. By the way, some of you guys out there have some really nice looking trucks!

Message: Well I still haven't seen any new pictures of the hardware involved in the lift kits..
And explain this why did Truckin Suspension change it's name to Truck Suspension? Just another name for us to look out for or are they trying to start over again. What's a steering Idler? I don't remember seeing a engine that powers my steering let alone a idler for it. Maybe he's talking about a heim joint but who knows.
I'm not trying to say this "new lift" is as crappy as the one that they sold to me and wouldn't help me with or replace anything or reburse me anything. But until pictures of the hardware are seen I still think this is pritty shady.
26 WHOLE LIFTS!? OMG!! in one year? wow.. Your giving Rancho a run for it's money.
If only it was done right the first time I'm sure you number would be well over double that.

I'd really like 9.5" and would have bought one like 6 months ago had I not been told how piss poor they were. If something broke and I crashed my truck I'd fly to AZ I think it is and shoot everyone at truckin suspensions.

Message: Rancho / with cranked torsion bars and a 3in PA body lift (and some fender trimming) are you only option besides going with a straight axle conversion.
Whiplash and Truckin Suspension have yet to be proven as "quality" products.

Message: Even the 3" rancho cranked and a 3" body lift won't be enough for those wide tires. You'll really need an inch or two more. You could also go with fiberglass fenders. You may want to stick with a 35x12.50 swamper, the boggers (especially 35's) will kill the front end and you'll trash it. Best bet for those tires is a solid axle swap. If not you'll end up
