Subject: 3" Lift and 33's IP: Logged
Message: I have a '99 Solar Yellow CC Dak, auto, with 5.2L, str8t pipe dual exhuast, 31x10.50's, K&N drop in filter, bedrails, and tinted windows. I have been reading your posts for a while and that is what made me buy and install a 3" PA body lift. My question is, can I put a set of 33x12.50's on with this lift and about 1 1/2" of torsion bar lift. I really want to put some killer meats on but I am worried about having to trim the front fenders. Any help would be awsome.

Message: you will definetly have to trim the the bumper,as far as the fenders the rear of the front fender will most likely need trimming. i didnt have to trim the front of the fender wall to get mine to work; but i also added the 3" fabtech lift to the body lift. as far as the front of the fender we trimmed the lower part of the bumper and pushed the fender wall back to the bumper and bolted them together. check out my post "THE PICS ARE IN", its has the pictures of the work we did. just go to the link.

Message: If you use a 3 inch body lift and 15x8 rims, there should only be some very minor trimming on the bottom back corner of the front bumper plastic. No rubbing anywhere else.

The rear looks too high for the front, but a lift is a lift guess! hehe...

Message: Dakota, That is a sweet ride. I love the look of the boggers, it makes it look TOUGH!!! Thanks for sending the link to your site. About that 5 inch lift, I believe I came across a website (I will have to find it and post it) but it sold 3.5", 4.5", 6.5", and 9.5" lifts for '97 thru '99 and '00 thu present Dakota's.... I will find it and post it for you guys. I am thinking about getting the 4.5" for mine when I actually get the mula.... I agree with TallQuad about the rear being to high. I prefer the level look.
Talk to you guys later.

Message: Didn't the 2000's come with the 9-1/4 rear end, so 4.10s are possible right? I haven't seen the article but from the clip, I didn't see anything about it being a 4WD.

Message: I found that site for the lift kits that I had talked about earlier. it is
http://www.truckin-illinois.com/product_list.asp?id=374. I don't know the quality of the lifts, but the tech instructions/parts list sound pretty knowledgable and thorough.

Message: Umm, Ask Knobby about that lift.
Yes, 9 1/4 rear, but a new Chrysler 8 inch front. Only gears available for a matching set are 3.55 and 3.90.

Message: In response to Cadetdak and the truck with the 5" lift.
I believe that is a tuff country 5.5" lift modified to fit on newer trucks with rack-and-pinion steering. There is a company in Hawaii that does the conversion.
