Subject: Torsion Bar tools IP: Logged
Message: To the guys who have cranked their T-Bars for an inch of height on a 2000+ Dak, what tools did it take? I looked at mine (I think) and can't quite figure it out. Is there a cap or something that has to come off first?
Any details are appreciated...

Message: I think I used a 24mm socket w/1/2 drive. 6" extension helps, but I got by w/o it. Make sure you measure both sides of the truck and bring it up gradually. I raised mine 1" a few weeks ago. Pretty easy job.

Message: Did you have to jack the front up under the crossmember to lighten the load, or just crank 'em while it was on the ground?
Thanks again...

Message: I jacked it...don't know if you have to. I would recommend it to take the pressure off the suspension.

Message: You have to adjust the torsion bars with the truck on the ground to get a acurate measurement, crank both sides a few turns and measure from the bottom ball joint to the ground, then go for a drive to get it settled and just keep doing this till you get it where you want it. I wouldnt go more than an 1 inch to 1-1/2
