Message: hey gents and lady's (if your out there);)
tommorow i will be placing an order for my new tires and wheels along with my susp. lift, however, i was wondering about the fabtech 3in lift for the 2001 2wd dak. is it very difficult to put on. is it worth the money($710). how much time does it take. i want to put 33's on it.
i like the looks of Tall Quads, very nice i must say.
i have already installed a 3in body lift.
how well does fabtech susp. lift handle.
Tall quad, if you could give me any pointers it would be much appreciated.
thank to all.
i will post pics when i am done
oh yeah, EA589's with pro comp xterrains 33x12.5x15 wheels are 15x10.

Message: Hehe... someone's got the lift bug!!
fwbFL, I did a post a while back on my lift with a lot of useful info. If you do a search for "tallquad fabtech" that should get you close.
But here are a few short answers...
As a guide, the body lift was easier than the suspension lift was. You need a coil compressor and some strong arms to get the new coils in. You need to be able to push the bushings out of the stock a-arms in order to get a mounting piece you need for the new a-arms. ALL that is the hardest part... the rest is fairly easy.
One word of caution, get it right the first time! When installing the new bushings on the a-arms, make sure that all the washers, spacers, and whatever else is needed are in place before you push those polyurethane(sp) bushings on! I learned the hard way that they DON'T come back off easily. hehe...
I'm not a pro, but I can get around cars pretty well so I think it's worth doing it yourself and saving $500 or more for installation.
As far as handling... well, since fabtech pushes the truck up so high, the front suspension loses a lot of upward movement making it worse than stock. Would I do it again... hell yeah! But expect a little different ride, thats all.
