Message: i have a 97 dak with a 3 inch body lift, and to be honest i didnt even put them on in my truck, and my wife has a 90 chevy k1500 with a 3 bl and we dont have them on her truck either, i think the main reason for them is so if your haulin alot of weight in the middle of your bed so it doesnt bend downward, but if your not really doing that, you have no worries, i've still hauled stuff in mine and i have had no problems, besides, you can always put them in later down the road.

Message: Drill and bolt in if it worries ya. But like Red said, ya don't need then unless you are hauling a lot of weight!

Message: what are these crush blocks..? I put a body lift on my 97' about 3 years ago and I don't remember anything like what you're talking about. I have however hauled almost 3K lbs in the bed with no problem.

Message: they are just four square pieces cut from a steel bar. apparently they are there for extra support if you are going to be hauling really heavy loads and your lift blocks settle too much. i dunno.

Message: on a side note...im running 33" BFG mud terrains, which looks sweet with the lift. but when winter rolls in, im gonna have to switch to stock 31" nokian snow tires. are those gonna look goofy with the lift?

Message: BIGTYMER - I have a hard time believing 3K LBS with no problem. My 2001 has hauled 2K a few times, however the truck was sitting on the axles on anything over 1700, I just got lucky that nothing happened the other times. Do you have the factory axle and springs under your truck or have you built a heavier set up?

Message: I have the factory axle and suspension for now. It's got 3" blocks in the back and yeah it was close to sitting on the bumpstops and the tires were bulged out pretty good. But I hauled about 5-6 loads like this for a good 20 miles each time. My rule of thumb is, "as long as you can get it in the bed or hooked to the hitch... it's comein' Git-R-Done
