Subject: Can I run these tires? IP: Logged
Message: I have an '03 4x4 Quadcab with 2" torsion crank and 1.5" blocks. I plan on putting a 3" PA bodylift on in the near future. My question is can I fit 285/75's without the bodylift for now? I can deal with a little rubbing until I get my body lift on.
One more question: I can't decide between the Dick Cepek FC-II's or BFG AT KO's. I heard that the BFG's are really undersized. I'm getting 285/75/16's.

Message: I would say no, unless you are willing to start trimming front end stuff. Wheels and backspacing also play into the mix. And, I think tires are best measured with a tape rather manufacture specs.

Message: I have an 03 QC 4X4 with 2"Torsion/2"Blocks lift and I am running 265/75/16 which are approx. 32X10.50r16. There is definitely room to go taller, but very little space to go wider. At full lock there is less than inch between tire and frame. I wouldn't go any wider than 10.50 with stock wheels unless you want rubbing. Members can go to this link to see pics of my setup.

Message: Again, trust or use a tape measure. 265/75/16 being 32", I don't think so, I am not trying to flame, but at recommended PSI use a tape.

Message: My tape measure reads 31 3/4"...so it's just under 32"s, which is why I typed approx. 32", just easier to describe that way.
for those of you wondering this a 1/4": [---]

Message: Jim,
Here are some pics of my truck, just copy paste the url's to your browser. I adjusted the torsion bars 2" higher in the front and put 2" blocks in the rear. I am running 265/75/16 BFG AT/KO's, which are approx. 32"X10.50"
A block is just that, a block that sits between the leaf spring and the axle, which raises the back end. You can buy universal lift blocks at Autozone, Kragen, PepBoys, etc. for around $30, you will also need longer u-bolts($15) because the stock ones will be too short to cover the blocks.
