Subject: Lift w/ stock wheels IP: Logged
Message: I'm planning on buying a PA 3" Lift for my 98' 3.9 CC. I also need new tires and i am hoping to put larger ones on it. Will the larger tires rub with the stock wheels? Does anyone know what size tires would work with stock rims? Pictures would be appreciated! Thanks!!!

Message: i have a 97' 3.9 with 3" PA and stock wheels....32x11.5 maxxis muds. rubs on frame at full lock. i would reccoment 33x10.5, you'll get all the height and hopefully no frame rub

Message: Bucket~ yeah i did lose quite a bit, i want to run 34x10.5 but i am REALLY worried what that might do. I think i may try and swap to a 5.9 with 3.92 gears that i have....that would be perfect for oversized tires.
Dakrider~ thank you, i am glad i helped. good luck with your truck!

Message: Bucket~ i forgot to mention that i got a double single roll bar...so now the basket that i am making i am trying to build to fit the roll bar. anyway it is hard to explain but when i finish i think it will look sweet. Probably not as heavy as yours...but never the less it will be better than none

Message: Hi all! I am new to dakotas so pardon my noob-ishness. I was wondering if a set of 31x11.50 will fit with stock wheels on a 1997 2wd Dakota sport with a 3" body lift.

Message: Just stick with 10.5s, you'll probably rub either way but the wider the worse the rub....

Message: Just thought I would ask since I have the 11.50's laying around. Thanks for the response. , hmm maybe i could buy a spare dakota wheel to try it on for the hell of it..
Oh yeah I forgot to ask but I think I read that a body lift can not be performed with the automatic is that true?? I sure hope not. I had already purchased one on ebay and the auction made no mention of it only being for manual trans.

Message: Could I use stock 16x8 wheels to run 32s with a 3" suspension lift? The reason I am asking is b/c the manufacturer of the suspension lift recommends using a 16" wheel with a max backspacing of 4 5/8". BTW, the truck is a 97 cc 3.9 2wd.

Message: 97 dak~Yeah with the 2wd lifts you have to get new wheels, somthing about the caliper not working/fitting.
Tex~ you can have a body lift in combination with a suspension lift, there are several people on this board who have that. as for where to get the lift for a 94...i can't help ya there.
