Subject: Lift Problems! IP: Logged
Message: I was wondering if any of you had serious problems with your trucks performance after you put on your lifts. I just had a 5.5 inch lift put on my 99 Dak, 5.2. No all of a sudden it is not wanting to idle smoothly, and in some slow turns it wants to die. I was wondering if this was common problem with dakotas or if the shop who installed it did something. It has me very worried. I spent all my money on the lift and tires, I don't think I could afford a huge repair bill. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Message: .....But it drives okay? In this order I would be looking for:
1. a vacuum line that was inadvertantly disconnected (vacuum leaks tend to be more noticable at lower rpms)
2. plug wire not on, or a broken ceramic inside a plug boot ((same as above)
3. a loose electrical connnection (although this would tend to affect it at ALL times)
Fuel problems (lack of ie. a kinked line)tend to show more when you are ON the gas and not as much during idle. Not to say that it isn't possible!
I know these are not specific things (except for the plugs), but someone with some under-the-hood experience may be able to spot your malfunction.
