Message: I have an 03 4x4 and would like to put 285/75/16 tires with no lift. I know there will be a lot of trimming, but would like to know if anyone has done it. I do offroad a bit and I want to be sure they will clear in those situations as well.
Thanks
Message: don't think so - you'll need a whole lot of trimming... Even with a 3 inch body lift you could get slight rubbing with that size tire. (exactly what I have and I've cranked the t-bars too)
Message: I know it will work. Buddy did it on a SXT 4x4 and was a frequent Pismo go'er. I did it with 33's but I also have the Hanson bumper that helped the front clearance.
Message: You can't tell me that 12.5's fit on stock suspension with no frame rub... When the wheel is at full turn, those tires will hit the framerail - unless you've changed the backspacing. (did you?)
I've got 3inch body lift and 285/75R16 and even I get a bit of frame rub - very slight. Stock wheels.
Message: Frame rub is a given sorry if I did not mention that I usually always do. At full turn it will rub the frame been that way since '97. It is a slight rub at full turns.
If you change the BS to correct this the rubbing is just moved further out and more trimming is required.
