hey i have a 2001 4x4 with a 4.7L 5spd and i am running 3" suspension and 3" body lift with 15x10 rims and 33/12.50 superswampers and i have lost a lot of power with the tires and i was wondering what would the best gears be to replace the 3.92 gears and it is a daily driver

A change to 4.10's would be a total waste of your money. If you already have 3.92's, a jump to 4.10's is only an increase of less than 5%. 4.56's are the tallest gears you can get right now for your front differential. That is an increase of a little over 16%. You will notice a bigger difference with 4.56's.

I'm going with the 4:56 and 33 inch BFG A/T. I did the calculations and at 70mph I should be at 2100 RPMs with 4:10 and 2300 RPMs with 4:56. My truck runs better at the 2300 range so that's what I'm going with plus I do a lot of city driving. A jump from 3.92 to 4.10 is a waist of money IMO..need to go bigger.

If you think about it another way. A stock Dakota comes with:
31 inch tires and 3:55 or 3.92 gears
so going to a 32 inch tire would be 4.10
and going to a 33 inch tire or higher use 4.56

Hope that helps,
