Subject: Coil Overs IP: Logged
Message: Hello,
Has anyone found coil over shocks or after market torsion bars for the 2001+ QC 4x4s? The front of mine is bottoming out on right hand corners. I have the torsion bars cranked up already, but that does not really help.

Message: Any luck? I have a buddy looking for some of these, and I will probably make them. He said he saw an add for coil overs from ProComp. I am thinking I can design and source coil overs for a Dakota for under $500 including springs.

Message: That would be great. I am waiting for my number to come up for the dealership to replace my ball joints do to the recall, but let me know if you start doing that or need a test vehicle. I have a downhill right corner that I bottom out on everyday home from work so I can test it on that corner easily. I ended up getting some Doetech 2.0 for my truck and they barley made a difference so something much better would be cool. And if you do it for a lot lease that would be even better.

Message: i was thinkin, toyota tacomas don't have torsion bars but they have the same shocks position with a coil over, you can replace that shock and coilover with a longer one to raise the front end 1 to 2 inches, now could we do that with our dakotas, I dunno, but the torsion bars might limit that. the two suspensions seem to be about the same.

Message: Unfortunetley, the Toy has a better and more reliable suspension design then ours. I have never heard of a recall on the front end of a Toyota.
