Subject: Tire Question IP: Logged
Message: Hey all,
I have a '97 ext.cab 5.2V8 4x4 dakota with 3.92's
and have the stock 31's on. I was wondering if I could put 33" BFG's on without lifting it? and will there be alot of rubbing when turning etc.
Thanks

Message: I know that one of the people on this site have ran 33's on a 4x4 completely stock. If you want to be safe crank up the torsions a butt hair.

Message: It's possible, but I believe you have to have a Hanson Bumper. Atleast I think that's what it is called.

Message: No way man. I have a 2002 dakota with a 3" Rancho lift and had 33x12.50's on 15x8 wheels test fitted on my truck and the front wheel completely hit the front bumper when the wheels were turned. The back wheels fit just fine. You would have to do some trimming on the front bumper or replace it with another bumper. The wheel seemed to clear the rear of the front wheel well. If you wanna run those size tires I'd try a 3" body lift, you should be able to get that done alot cheaper then the suspension lift. Good luck.

Message: They were 33-10.50's. Not 33-12.50's.
