Subject: Spindles. Major ? !!!!! IP: Logged
Message: Alright. Been talken about this for a while now. I have heard conflicting answers and what a person who knows to finally put this question to rest.
With lift spindles, do they effect the geometery of the front end? I have heard NO. Do lift spindles change the linkages of the front end? I have heard NO. Can You use 3in lift spindles with a 2-3in suspension lift with our Daks rack& pinion? Seems like you could.
I have read that lift spindles were attractive because you could lift anything using them and not screw up your trucks front end. Now people are saying our R&P cant take a 3in spindle and 3in suspension.
WHATS THE DEAL HERE?????????????
Thanks, Joe E.

Message: Yeah, Thats what I say too.
Ok, an idea! I was hooken up spme 6in lights on my grill guard today. As I looked intot the engine compartment at my nasty suspension's top view I thought of something. Everyone here talks about the Rack and pinion messen up the more than 3in suspension lifts. As I look at the "Tie Rod ends" I see they are connected to the spindleand bolted through. They are also bolted under the part of the spindle they attach to. So is it possible that you could take the tie rod end and bolt them to the spindle ABOVE the spindle attaching part? That would be like taking 2inches off the suspension lift off (according to the rack and pinion).
What I mean is basically flippen the tire rod ends to bolt above the spindle knob instead of below the spindle knob. Tall me what ya think.

Message: you could use spindles on anything that has spindles to lift a truck , aslong as it's designed for it ......... Fabtech doesn't want to make a spindle because it does't see it profitable ......I live in california I've been to their factory in fullerton , they say they have more people calling for toyotas than for daks , I told them durangos and dak are the same suspension , he said still people don't call for the lift .......... So if we had somebody to design one and manufacture it we wont have one .

Message: E-mail me at richardmomeni@hotmail.com with desire for lift componets for 2wd genI dakotas. If there is enough demand I will manufacure spindles and other parts for sale. I am interested in these parts for my own truck. If I go through the trouble of developing a proper lift for my own truck what will stop me from doing it again? so let me hear about it. Also if anyone has any ideas enlighten me. Thank you.

Message: Hey, is there any possibility of using the lifted spindles on a 4x4. I'm sitting on 3" body lift and don't want to spend the $1300 for a sus-lift right now but would still like to be a little higher. It's a 99 ext cab. Any thoughts would be appriciated.

Message: I would have to set up a production line if I were to manufacture spindles. I would have to be assured of selling 1000 sets before I would go through the expense of doing so. These would not be cheap at that level of production so those looking for an economy lift should look elsewhere. There are many lift kits for late model dakotas and 4wd ones. My interest is in pre 97 2wd dakota spindles. There currently is not much available for them. Thanks Richard

Message: Richard, you are right. If there was a descent susp lift out there for us Gen I 2wds, I would have it now. But All I found a year ago was a 2in spacer lift. Not AIm has the 3in coils, will be doing that soon. But still not enough to get 33x12.50 under there. Thats why I want these spindles. I see these lift spindles for 200 bucks at places. Id be willing to pay a good bit more if I could get my Gen I 2wd Dak up another 3in! Thanks yall. Hope Richard will get on those this quick. I want them Bad!!!
