Message: No, I didn't have to do anything except trim the fan shroud. Do you have an aftermarket hose? Mine was factory so it had plenty of hose after the lift.
Wouldn't want any other!

Message: Maybe your stock hose is shorter but mine had plenty of room so I didn't have to drain the radiator.

Message: Kyle,
I have the factory hose also but I had to cut mine in half and use the aluminum extension and the pipe clamps they gave me. My hose was way to close to the fan once the body was lifted.

Message: If you remove the clutch fan then you definitely don't have to worry about the hose and you don't have to trim the fan shroud either. Wish I had remove it before I did the body lift, as that would have been 2 less things to do. I extended my radiator hose too, but really wished that I hadn't ... the damn extension is 2" outside diameter and the hose is 1.5" inside diameter. BIG PROBLEM! It took a whole lot of spit and cussing to stretch that hose on there, but its there to stay now. Will probably buy a new hose in the near future since I took the clutch fan off and there is oh-the-plenty of room now.

Message: Hey Tracy H, what kind of fan did you put in? I've been wanting to do the same thing but put in a Flex-a-lite 2800 cfm Blackmagic fan. I think the part is 150.

Message: Actually, since mine is an '00 with AC, it had a fan already on it. Been without for a couple of weeks now and haven't had any overheating problems. The fan comes on at about 200-210 degrees and that is only when I'm sitting in traffic.
Did you install your gears or did you have them installed by someone else? Was wondering how difficult it is and/or what the cost of installation would be.
Thanks, Tracy

Message: I don't inderstand, you already have an electric fan stock? I have AC and most other Daks do also, but I didn't know they were putting electric fans on from the factory or did you buy it with the fan on used? On the gears I had done by a shop. Most mods on this truck I've done myself but this was a mod that had to be done right and I didn't want to take any chances on it messing up later. I looked into doing that myself and with everything having to be just right and the tolerances being so small, I wasn't going to take the chance of blowing a rear end.
Wouldn't want any other!

Message: I did buy the truck used, but there were mods done to it when I bought it. I'm fairly recent that all '00+ models have an electric fan on the radiator, but I could definitely be wrong. I'm assuming that it is something that started with the '00 models. Maybe someone else will chime in and confirm or deny this.

As far as I know my 01 QC has both the clutch fan and an electric fan attached to the radiator. I will check on my lunch break which is in a half hour and let you guys know.

Message: Hey all -
OK, I just got back from lunch and I did check out my truck. I do have an electric fan attached to the back of the radiator, plus the clutch fan. This is either an '00+ feature as Tracy said or possibly a feature that is included when you have a V-8.
