Message: Called the dealer today and gave them my vin number on my 2000 D to find out what size my rims were. They tell me that they are 15x8. My tires are 31x10 50r. I would like to get 16 inch rims and run 33x10 or so tires. I should be able to run 33x12.5 if I can find a rim with 3.75 or 4 inch backspace. Right? Anyone recomend a mfr? Also, will this new combination give me an additional lift of 2 inches? 1.5 for tires, 1/2 for new rim size? Oh, no lift kit yet. Thats next.

Message: corect me if im wrong but the tires is the only thing that will give you a little bit of lift....the rim size isnt gonna change the ride height at all..going from a 31 to a 33 will change the height........

Message: the only rims I have found with 4 " backspacing is the ae 15 x 7 589 , 16 x 8 american racing have some 4.5 backspacing , the tire is only gonna give you 1" lift cause the circumference is changing all the way around the wheel 31 to 33 is 2" in circumference bigger , 1" taller , the rim will be bigger but not the tire on the rim .............................
